Does anyone know of any quality and preferably free screencasting software?

I could always try to find a crack for Fraps I suppose but I'd rather see if there are better alternatives to that.

    Ever tried using Livestream?

Can't say I have. My goal was to record and make videos, possibly uploading on youtube if I got the hang of it.

I couldn't find something I liked. I ended up going with http://screencast.com/ for the particular occassion for which I needed it, which worked well enough. It's free but has certain limitations unless you go pro.

I'd appreciate it if you could post your findings here.

So I couldn't find anyone I knew to ask that didn't use Fraps. Go figure.

That was my experience as well.

I always imagined in my head that making this type of software shouldn't really be that hard, but I guess I was wrong.

    Long live piracy!
