I don't have time for this, but that's no reason not to at least think about it. And, hell, in the distant future, maybe it could happen:

Given infinite time/money/talent/etc, what would you think the best thing to do with YOSC is? Definition of "best" being the most optimal combination of generating actual traffic, nourishing a sizable community, and yet remaining true to its roots.

Need to give it more thought, but I'll have a crack at that question.

For one thing I'd like to see the place active and thriving with a stable population and a modest turn-around of new registrations against people who forget or stop coming.

Content is the main issue, though, and what that content is... It's been ever-elusive. First thing that comes to mind is commentary, since unless we get actual experts in a given field or area we can't really create something wholly new. I'd like to say instead of keeping current with news, pull more things out relevant issues or topics from the past and relate them to the present. So I guess more essay-ism than journalism.

But hell, if we could get more original creative content, that'd be just wunderbar.

I like the idea of having different kinds of media up. I'd also like to see a balance of things--be it opinion, general coverage or media involved--just so that it doesn't seem like we're talking out of our ass.

Howdy, Stranger!
